Felix Pie appeared to injure his left foot while leaving the batters box on a single in the fifth inning, but he stayed in the game after taking a few practice jogs down the right field line.
Corey Patterson watched Pie from the top step of the dugout. Head athletic trainer Richie Bancells and assistant trainer Brian Ebel paid close attention as Pie rounded third on Cesar Izturis’ liner to center field that ended the inning.

Pie crossed the plate and took his position in left field. Maybe it’s just a cramp.
It’s always something.
Patterson better stay ready.
Pie and Matt Wieters singled with two outs, giving the Orioles three baserunners in five innings. They’ve matched Cleveland’s run total.
Down on the farm, Lou Montanez is 2-for-2 at Double-A Bowie. The hitting streak is alive.
Triple-A Norfolk’s Rick VandenHurk has allowed one run and three hits in 4 2/3 innings against Indianapolis.
Ronnie Welty hit his 13th home run for Single-A Frederick.
Updates: Pie stayed in the game and beat out a potential double play bouncer, so his foot’s fine. And Kevin Millwood has made it through seven innings, allowing three runs and nine hits. That’s nine quality starts for the rotation in 10 games under Buck Showalter.
VandenHurk has held Indianapolis to one run and three hits in eight innings, with one walk and two strikeouts. He’s thrown 103 pitches, 73 for strikes.
