Opening statement:
“Bergesen was better. He looked more comfortable. His slider will get better. He had good sink, but he’ll get better when he gets a little more extension on his pitches. But he was improved. Tillman had too many three-ball counts. He was working on pitching in today, so that’s why he was missing a little bit in there. He was working on just fastball command and trying to pitch in. Hendrickson threw strikes. Did a nice job. Snyder had a big game. Tucker’s had a great camp….Opening statement:

On Brandon Snyder:
“Snyder has been working with Crow a lot and I told him, ‘You’re going to play all nine innings today.’ Snyder’s bread and butter is hitting the ball the other way. I remember that from when I had him in instructional league as a young kid. He had the ability to wait and keep his hands inside the ball and hit the ball hard the other way. He’s been working with Crow on the inside pitch, turning on the ball. Snyder’s got the ability to hit, and I think he’s got the ability to hit with men on base. That’s what he does.”
Jonathan Tucker, Justin Turner, Lou Montanez, Luke Scott, Rhyne Hughes, Brandon Snyder and Pedro Florimon each had two hits. Scott drove in four runs, the last three on a home run. Snyder had a two-run shot.
Mark Hendrickson tossed two scoreless innings. He allowed one hit, walked one and struck out one.
