Did you hear that former major league pitcher Jose Lima died of a massive heart attack at his Los Angeles home? ESPNDeportes is reporting it. Lima was only 37.
No much to report from manager Dave Trembley’s pre-game media session beyond Koji Uehara’s elbow exam.
If you’re scoring at home, Uehara’s next trip to the disabled list will be No. 4 since the Orioles signed him. The only question now is whether the club announces it tomorrow or Tuesday.

“Koji feels absolutely terrible, and the timing of it couldn’t come at a worse time for us,” Trembley said.
The next pitcher to join the bullpen – and perhaps it will be David Hernandez, as I suggested earlier – will need the ability to go multiple innings.
“People are on (Matt) Albers, people are on (Cla) Meredith,” Trembley said. “You have to go with what you have and I’ve used those guys an awful lot. You need somebody to give you more than one inning.”
Trembley won’t reveal which relievers are available today, but he said, “I’m better than I was yesterday.”
“It would be to our benefit to have our starting pitchers go deep in the games,” he added. “Yesterday, we needed it from (Brad) Bergesen. He was well aware of it. He didn’t get it done. Today, we’re in a little bit better shape in our bullpen, but it would still put us in a lot better position to win the game if (Kevin) Millwood would go deep.”
The Orioles know they’re going to get a lot of off-speed stuff from Nationals starter John Lannan.
“We need to score some runs early and we need to have a lead going in late in the game,” Trembley said.
