That describes the top of the fourth inning where Oakland used an infield single, a bloop single, two O’s errors and a three-run homer to score six times vs. Kevin Millwood and take a 6-3 lead.
So much for playing from ahead. The O’s led 3-0 after three.
But Miguel Tejada made an error on the first hitter of the inning. One out later, Corey Patterson not only could not catch Ryan Sweeney’s bloop single, but then let it get behind him for an error as the first run scored.

But Miguel Tejada made an error on the first hitter of the inning. One out later, Corey Patterson not only could not catch Ryan Sweeney’s bloop single, but then let it get behind him for an error as the first run scored.
Later in the inning, the O’s thought they had a runner thrown out at second base, but the hitter had walked on the pitch and catcher Matt Wieters threw to second. As the throw went through, Mark Ellis ran home from third with the first steal of home vs. the Orioles since June 8, 2008.
Coco Crisp capped off the wretched display by hitting a three-run homer. Millwood threw 47 pitches over the first three innings, then threw 42 in the fourth.
Millwood deserved more support in that frame and to make matters worse, five of the six runs were earned despite the two errors.
Meanwhile, Patterson just got the run he allowed in back with a solo homer to right to make it a 6-4 A’s lead.
Earllier, Adam Jones hit a two-run homer and RBI double. Jones has 13 homers to tie Ty Wigginton for the club lead. He has hit four over the last seven games and six in the past 13 games.
