Orioles manager Buck Showalter, interviewed on MASN2 after tonight’s 8-1 win over the Twins, said center fielder Adam Jones left the game in the second inning because he felt weak.
Doctors couldn’t find a specific cause, and Jones was sent to a local hospital for more tests. It’s not known whether he’ll stay overnight.
It doesn’t sound too serious, but any trip to the hospital is cause for at least a little concern.
Hopefully, Jones will tweet an update on his condition later…Orioles manager Buck Showalter, interviewed on MASN2 after tonight’s 8-1 win over the Twins, said center fielder Adam Jones left the game in the second inning because he felt weak.

Matt Angle, recalled from Triple-A Norfolk earlier in the day, pinch-hit for Jones and replaced him in center field.
Update: I spoke with a member of the organization who says Jones was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center after experiencing shortness of breath and mild chest pains. Further tests were run, which looked good, and the team is hopeful that the discomfort was caused by a strained chest muscle rather than a cardio issue.
