Urrutia said the shoulder began to bother him during Friday’s exhibition opener in Port Charlotte after he made a throw to third base.
“I feel better,” he said through his interpreter, first baseman Chris Marrero, who is sidelined with a strained oblique.
“I think it was just something where I didn’t stretch it or warm my arm up.”
Urrutia said he’s never experienced shoulder pain in the past. It doesn’t flare up when he swings a bat.
Marrero felt more discomfort on his side while throwing yesterday. He will attempt to work out next week.
