Millwood wants a major league contract and an immediate spot on a 25-man roster. He won’t find it in Baltimore. The Orioles would only sign him to another minor league deal.
How Millwood would fit into the Orioles’ plans is tied to the projected timetables for pitchers Brian Matusz and Alfredo Simon. Matusz will pitch in an extended spring training game on Saturday. Simon will start for Double-A Bowie on Thursday.
Millwood was 4-16 with a 5.10 ERA in 31 starts for the Orioles last season.
