Also, Orioles manager Buck Showalter told reporters in Chicago that left-hander Brian Matusz will throw two or three innings in an extended spring training game on May 7.
The club is taking an extremely cautious approach with Matusz, who threw a full bullpen session yesterday at Camden Yards and said he’s been pain-free for a while.
Earlier projections had Matusz being activated by the middle of May, but the Orioles want him to make at least three starts on his injury rehab assignment, which would place his return later in the month.
