Nolan Reimold hadn’t homered since July 26 before tonight’s big swing off White Sox reliever Jason Frasor.
Reimold was hitless in four at-bats tonight before stepping to the plate in the bottom of the 10th inning. He ended up with a pretty sweet 1-for-5.
“I was just trying to be relaxed,” he said. “I was 0-for-4 at that point. Just relax and not be tense. I got a pitch to hit, my first pitch, so I didn’t take it. I jumped on it and was happy to come through.”

Reimold had a hunch where the ball was going to land, but he hustled out of the box as usual.
“I had a good feeling, but you never know, so I had to kind of run down the line,” he said.
“I’m happy I could come through for my teammates. We look at one another to come through for the team, so I’m happy I was able to step up this time and get the job done. It’s a good feeling.”
Reimold’s average is down to .215 as he tries to establish himself as an everyday player in the majors.
“Honestly, the last few days I’ve been feeling pretty good,” he said. “I’ve been putting some good swings on the ball. Before my last at-bat there, I felt good pretty much every at-bat. I hit the ball up in the air, I hit it on the ground. Putting good swings on it, just not able to pull out a hit. So sometimes you’ve got to hit it over the fence to get a hit.”
