That three-run shot Nolan Reimold hit in the second inning tonight had to feel good.
Reimold’s three-run homer to left off Brian Duensing gave the Orioles a 4-0 lead and was followed a few batters by a Matt Wieters RBI double that made it 1-0.
The homer was Reimold’s eighth of the year, but he had just one over his last 21 games. He had hit just three in 111 at-bats since July 1.

I would have to think it was just a coincidence that it came in Reimold’s first at-bat after Felix Pie was designated for assignment. Reimold was already getting most of the starts in left field and the move with Pie probably will not impact that one way or the other.
Wieters came up with his RBI double to score Vlad Guerrero with his 45th RBI of the year. Wieters is now 8-for-17 during a five-game batting streak. He is batting .344 at 11-for-32 over his last 10 games with three homers and six RBIs.
The Orioles added three runs in the top of the third to lead 7-0 and knock Brian Duensing out of the game as Mark Reynolds had a two-run triple and Robert Andino an RBI single.
After getting retired in order in the first, the Orioles went 9-for-12 at bat against Duensing in innings two and three with three doubles, a triple and a homer.
Coming into tonight, the Orioles had been out-scored 25-9 in the first three innings on this road trip and by 95 runs on the year in the opening three frames.
