After the Birds blew a 3-0 lead, Reynolds’ two-run blast to left off Scott Proctor in the seventh, gave the Orioles a 5-4 lead and win today by that score as they salvaged the final game of the series in Atlanta.

The Orioles ended a five-game losing streak and are 36-45 at the 81-game, halfway point of the season.

Reynolds, who earlier had a sac fly, went 3-for-9 in this series with three homers and six RBIs. He has six homers over his last 13 games and 11 in his past 26 games. He now has 18 on the season.

Zach Britton hit a solo homer himself and added an infield single. But he could not hold a 3-0 lead and did not get a decision, giving up three runs and six hits over five-plus innings. Britton has just one win over his last 11 starts.

Nick Markakis went 5-for-5 today which included an RBI double. He went 8-for-10 in the last two games of this series.

Markakis now has seven multi-hit games over his last eight games and is batting .528 at 19-for-36 in that stretch with two doubles, two homers and 7 RBIs. He is batting .436 over his past 22 games.

Jim Johnson, who gave up Eric Hinske’s two-run single that put Atlanta ahead 4-3 in the sixth, did get the win, improving to 5-1. Koji Uehara pitched out of a jam in the eighth and Kevin Gregg pitched the ninth to record a save.

The Orioles finished interleague play with a record of 7-11. They ended Atlanta’s nine-game interleague winning streak.

The Orioles won for just the sixth time in their last 20 games and are now 1-2 on this ten-game road trip which now heads to Texas.
