Mark Reynolds may have some bragging rights on the golf course this winter.
His solo homer in the fifth inning last night helped the Orioles beat the Angels and the homer came off Dan Haren. Reynolds and Haren are close friends and played together for three seasons in Arizona.

His solo homer in the fifth inning last night helped the Orioles beat the Angels and the homer came off Dan Haren. Reynolds and Haren are close friends and played together for three seasons in Arizona.
“Oh, yeah, he is one of my best friends in baseball,” Reynolds said. “We were together in Arizona for three years. We hang out in the offseason a lot, play golf a lot. I guess I can let him know about this in the offseason.”
Reynolds first faced Haren a few weeks back when he pitched against the Orioles during a West Coast swing.
“The first time in Anaheim was kind of strange,” Reynolds said. “I think he struck me out twice and then I got a broken-bat single somewhere. It was strange the first time, but tonight, you just go out and play. He made a couple of bad pitches and I was able to take advantage of it.”
Reynolds needed a hit. The homer snapped an 0-for-21 stretch and he was just 2-for-32 with 13 strikeouts before the longball. Reynolds had homered just once over his previous 15 games.
Reynolds now has hit 33 homers, the most by an Oriole since Miguel Tejada hit 34 in 2004. Last season, Luke Scott led the club with 27.
The last Oriole to hit more than 34 homers was Albert Belle, who hit 37 in 1999.
