That’s runners in scoring position, not rest in peace. Too early to dump dirt on this season.
The O’s entered the top of the third in Oakland today just 2 for 44 on the year when batting with runners in scoring position and two out. But with two out and runners on first and second, Ty Wigginton delivered a two-run double to right and Nick Markakis hit a ground ball RBI single to center. So they matched their total of hits with RISP and two outs for the season in one inning.

Wigginton entered today 0 for 4 on the year with RISP and Markakis entered at 1 for 7.
Wigginton has three homers and 8 RBI over his last six games. Markakis has now reached base in all 13 games this season.
Update: Nolan Reimold’s two-run double in the 5th today gave the Orioles a 6-1 lead. Six runs matches the O’s season best (they’ve done it twice) and is the most Oakland has given up this year. Previously, the A’s had given up five runs in two other games.
The O’s had scored seven total runs in the first three games of this series and had scored three runs or less in nine of the season’s first dozen games.
