Don’t look now but Adam Jones’ run production is on the rise. Again.
Jones got the Orioles started today with an RBI double to left-center in the third for a 1-0 lead and then he scored moments later when Matt Wieters homered in the same general area to end a 1-for-31 drought.
Jones now has nine extra-base hits with four doubles, a triple and four homers over his last 14 games. He has 12 RBIs over his last 13 games with four multi-RBI games in that stretch.

Coming into today, over his last 15 games, Jones was batting .305 (18-for-59) with four homers and 12 RBIs. Jones, by the way, is one homer shy of matching his career high of 25 set last year and one homer shy of 100 for his career.
Meanwhile, Omar Quintanilla had a bunt single and scored in the third today and added a double in the fourth. He now has nine hits his past 18 at-bats. His up-to-the-minute batting average is .417 with the Orioles.
The Orioles need a win to avoid a three-game sweep today. They have lost 25 of their last 35 against Oakland and are just 16-33 at home vs. the A’s since the start of the 2001 season.
