The Orioles’ representatives are Matt Albers, Robert Andino, Jeremy Guthrie and Felix Pie.
I knew about the last three, but I must have lost track of Albers. I forgot that he used up his last option in 2009. He’ll have to earn a spot in the bullpen this spring, and right-handed competition is plentiful.
If the Orioles keep a left-handed specialist and Koji Uehara makes it through camp in good health, that will probably leave two spots. David Hernandez or Jason Berken (yes, they’re being grouped together again) could shift to the bullpen. We also have Cla Meredith, Kam Mickolio and Dennis Sarfate fighting for jobs.
Stay tuned.
