The fielding drills instruction fulfilled an experience auctioned off at the Winter Meetings in San Diego in December to benefit the LUNGevity Foundation in memory of the late Monica Barlow, the former Orioles public relations director who passed away last year after battling lung cancer. Barlow would have celebrated her 38th birthday this week.
Check out this report from MASNsports.com’s Varun Raghupathi:
Barlow and LUNGevity, a charity she advocated passionately for, will be remembered Saturday when the Oriole Bird and FOX Sports reporter Ken Rosenthal don special LUNGevity bow ties throughout the nationally televised game against the Yankees.
Fans are encouraged to stop by LUNGevity’s photo booth at the Kids Corner at Camden yards to take photos with bow tie props, the Bird and Rosenthal, and to learn more about LUNGevity’s Breathe Deep Walk, which will be held at Camden Yards on Oct. 3.
