Scott confirmed the next day that he was done for the season. He had to decide whether to undergo surgery, which could entail a four-to-six month rest and rehab process.
By having the procedure tomorrow, Scott should be ready for spring training. However, it might not be with the Orioles, who could choose to non-tender him.
Scott is arbitration-eligible for the last time.
Scott was hitting .220 with 11 doubles, nine home runs and 22 RBIs in 64 games.
Meanwhile, Cesar Izturis is batting second and serving as the designated hitter tonight at Double-A Bowie. He singled in his first at-bat.
Izturis could join the Orioles in Toronto this week. No decision has been made on his status.
Vladimir Guerrero is expected to be activated tomorrow. His rehab assignment is over and he’s with the club.
