Outfielder David Lough also is available tonight, according to Showalter. Lough underwent concussion tests Wednesday in Baltimore before racing back to New York and playing left field in the ninth inning.
Manny Machado will receive two at-bats Saturday against Johan Santana in a simulated game at the Ed Smith Stadium complex. He won’t run the bases.
Dylan Bundy threw 35 fastballs again off a regular mound.
Showalter said he gave Chris Tillman the start tonight to keep the right-hander on normal rest. Bud Norris will start Saturday instead of Sunday because Showalter didn’t want to push him back too far.
