PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – Josh Stinson posted an unusual line tonight. Two innings, no hits, one unearned run, three walks, six strikeouts.
The tying run scored in the ninth on Stinson’s throwing error. The Orioles have played to four ties this spring.
It’s time to go home.
Stinson didn’t allow an earned run in nine innings.
“Josh has had a good spring,” said manager Buck Showalter. “He’s making it tough on us.”

“Josh has had a good spring,” said manager Buck Showalter. “He’s making it tough on us.”
Seems simple to me. Stinson is out of options and has earned a spot in the bullpen.
Chris Tillman threw 79 pitches in 4 2/3 innings.
“He needed to get to around 80 pitches. He needed to get that in, so he’s ready to go,” Showalter said.
“Tilly’s had a good spring. What I thought we’d see this spring, we have. He’s prepared to start the season. I like where we are with him. I’d have signed up for it coming in. Tonight got him back in good shape.”
Delmon Young had two RBIs and another fine play in the field that saved two runs.
“Delmon came in since Day 1 and was engaged in all phases of the game,” Showalter said. “One of the first guys there and last guys to leave. Nothing has been beneath him this spring. Anything we’ve asked of him.”
Showalter mentioned again today how difficult it was to option Henry Urrutia.
“I wouldn’t say he took it poorly, but he was really disappointed and I knew that one was going to be tough,” he said. “You think of where he was last year at this time, and he’s improved. Or maybe we just got to know him better.
“Henry’s in a position to really help us. He’s set up for a great year if he goes down there with the right attitude, and I think he will.”
That’s it for me. Three different datelines and two games in one day. Good night.
