Brandon Snyder came out of the game in the eighth inning after Pirates reliever Ramon Aguero drilled him in the left leg with two outs and the score tied.
Snyder was in obvious pain as he hopped out of the batter’s box and limped to first base. He bent at the waist as head athletic trainer Richie Bancells checked on him. Manager Dave Trembley later joined them.

We don’t get replays here and couldn’t tell exactly where the ball hit Snyder. I’m guessing he’ll be diagnosed with a contusion.
Aguero loaded the bases with two outs, but Miguel Abreu struck out.
Update: Alfredo Simon gave up the go-ahead run in the ninth on Delwyn Young’s one-out single to center field, and Jose Tabata added a sacrifice fly to increase the Pirates’ lead to 5-3. The rally started with a broken-bat infield hit.
