The Angels took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth on Mike Trout’s homer to center field. It was his 12th of the year and came on a Miguel Gonzalez 1-1 pitch.
That makes Trout 7-for-22 this year against O’s pitching with four homers and seven RBIs. Of Trout’s last 53 hits, 27 have gone for extra bases.
Gonzalez kept the Angels off the board on just 33 pitches over the first three innings, throwing 11 pitches in the first, 10 in the second and 12 in the third.

The Angels enter this game at 27-37 with three losses in a row, eight in the last 10 games and 10 over their last 14. They are 12-19 on the road and 2-6 in games against the AL East, including 1-4 versus the Orioles.
Manny Machado’s single to right in the last of the first extended his hitting streak to nine games. He has exactly one hit in each of the nine games. It is the second-longest hitting streak of his career. He hit in 11 straight this year from April 22-May 2.
Chris Davis ended his 0-for-16 stretch and hitless run over the last four games with an infield single in the second.
Nate McLouth has stolen 19 consecutive bases for the third-longest streak in O’s history. Brady Anderson got 36 in a row over the 1994-95 seasons and Luis Aparicio stole 21 in a row during the 1963 season.
Angels starter Jason Vargas has blanked the O’s through four, thanks in large part to a two-run homer-robbing catch by Peter Bourjos against J.J. Hardy in the last of the first tonight.
Did you think that was better than Trout’s amazing catch here last year against Hardy?
