The win gives the Orioles a record of 64-53 and they are 11 games over .500 for the first time since June 18 when they were 39-28.

The Orioles have now won five of the last six series against Boston and are 8-3 this year against the Red Sox. Red Sox starter Aaron Cook threw a ball into center field on a potential inning ending double play ball in the key sixth inning which allowed the inning to stay alive instead of the inning ending with Boston ahead 2-1.

The tie run scored on that play and then a Matt Wieters RBI double made it 3-2 and Mark Reynolds came up with a two-run double to left to make it 5-3.

Over his last seven games, Reynolds has four doubles, three homers and nine RBIs. On the year against Boston he is 11-for-26 with four homers and 13 RBIs.

Miguel Gonzalez pitched well again for the Orioles, giving up two runs and six hits over six innings. He improves to 5-2 with an ERA of 3.38 on the year.

Over his last three starts, Gonzalez has pitched 21 innings allowing 14 hits and three runs for an ERA of 1.29.

A win over Boston tomorrow night would give the O’s their first three-game home sweep of the Sox since April 30-May 2, 2010.
