Boston scored five times off Bob McCrory in the 8th to break the game open as Drew hit a three-run homer and Brian Anderson followed with a solo blast.

O’s starter David Hernandez was not involved in the decision. He gave up seven hits and three runs in six innings.

Matt Wieters, batting third for the first time, went 3 for 5 with an RBI. Ty Wigginton and Felix Pie hit back-to-back homers in the last of the 9th. Wigginton hit a pair of solo homers on the night.

Boston, which has won nine of its last ten games, improved to 26-11 since August 10th. The Sox are 15-2 this year vs. the Orioles.

In the series finale, Sunday at 1:35 p.m. Jason Berken (5-11, 6.08) faces Daisuke Matsuzaka (2-5, 7.02).
