New York added to its lead on A-Rod’s fielders choice RBI in the fifth. The O’s had a chance for an inning-ending double play on his grounder to short, but it looked like Cesar Izturis took too long throwing to Brian Roberts, whose relay to first was late.
Garcia has not faced the Orioles since 2006 when he was with the White Sox. He is 1-5 with an ERA of 5.20 over his last seven starts versus the Orioles.
After scoring just three runs last night, the Birds have now been held to three runs or less in 10 of their 19 games. Right now, they’d take three today to tie this up.
