I guess this weekend he proved it. Upton drove in four more runs today as Tampa completed a three-game sweep with a 5-3 win over the Orioles on a sunny Mother’s Day with 16,359 in attendance at the Yard.
The Orioles have lost four in a row and six of the last seven to fall to 14-19 and are now a season-high five games under .500.

He is batting .440 (11-for-25) with 12 RBIs this season against the Orioles.
After scoring just three runs against the Orioles when Baltimore swept the Rays in a season-opening series, Tampa scored 19 runs in this series.
Brad Bergesen pitched scoreless ball over the first three innings before Tampa got to him. He falls to 0-4 on the year with an ERA of 5.57. Bergesen gave up nine hits and five runs over 4 2/3 innings in his second shortest start of the season. He threw 85 pitches as his ERA increased to 9.13 in five career starts versus the Rays.
Orioles’ starting pitchers now have an ERA of 11.09 over the last four games.
The Orioles scored on a two-run double by Matt Wieters in the fourth and solo homer by Derrek Lee in the fifth. Wieters improved to 10-for-15 on the year with runners in scoring position with that two-bagger.
The Orioles are off Monday and this homestand continues Tuesday night against Seattle.
