Tommy Hunter’s first start of the 2011 season ended after four innings.
Hunter allowed four runs and eight hits, with no walks and one strikeout. He threw 78 pitches, 40 for strikes.
The defense behind Hunter wasn’t particularly sharp, but neither was Hunter.
Bobby Bundy lasted two innings tonight at Double-A Bowie. He allowed five runs (two earned) and six hits, with two walks, one strikeout and one home run. His unofficial pitch count was 62.

The defense behind Bundy wasn’t particularly sharp, and I’m told he gave up a few seeing-eye ground ball singles.
The Orioles released reliever Josh Rupe from the Triple-A Norfolk roster to make room for Willie Eyre. Rupe was 2-5 with a 7.07 ERA in 30 appearances with the Tides.
I lost count of the Orioles’ bench earlier. They have three players available: Felix Pie, Craig Tatum and Blake Davis.
Score that one E-me.
Update: The Orioles trail, 4-3, in the bottom of the seventh. They scored once in the sixth, and knocked out Blue Jays left-hander Brad Mills, on two walks, a passed ball and Matt Wieters’ infield hit.
Left-hander Troy Patton relieved Hunter and has retired all nine batters on 29 pitches, including 21 strikes. Jose Bautista popped up a 90 mph fastball to end the top of the seventh.
