Reynolds walked in his first two plate appearances and doubled into left-center field with two outs in the fifth to score two runs and give the Orioles a 4-3 lead.

That’s pretty big. It’s not three-homer big, but it’s sizable.

Reynolds didn’t have an RBI before tonight.

The Yankees loaded the bases with no outs against Jake Arrieta, but they settled for only one run on Derek Jeter’s bouncer to second. Curtis Granderson lined to second baseman Robert Andino and Cano fouled out.

CC Sabathia, 16-2 lifetime against the Orioles and 10-1 at Camden Yards, has allowed four runs and eight hits in five innings. He’s walked two, struck out six and thrown 101 pitches.

Jake Arrieta retired 12 of 13 batters after Granderson’s home run before the Yankees loaded the bases in the fifth.

Update: Arrieta has allowed three runs and four hits in six innings, with one walk and five strikeouts. He’s thrown 99 pitches, 63 for strikes. And he’s back out for the seventh with Luis Ayala warming in the bullpen.

Dontrelle Willis told the Virginian-Pilot that he’s got a knot in his left forearm. Executive vice president Dan Duquette told me earlier today that Willis has been dealing with a sore shoulder.

Update II: We’re tied again.

Luis Ayala replaced Arrieta with a runner on first base and two outs in the seventh. Derek Jeter walked and Curtis Granderson singled to deliver the tying run.

Arrieta is charged with four runs and five hits, with one walk, five strikeouts and a hit batter, in 6 2/3 innings. He threw 109 pitches, 70 for strikes.

Update III: Kevin Gregg retired the side in order in the ninth, but forced to go another inning, he surrendered a two-out, two-run homer to Nick Swisher in the 10th that gave the Yankees a 6-4 lead.

Eduardo Nunez singled with one out, but Matt Wieters picked him off first. Mark Teixeira blooped a double down the left field line, and Swisher broke the tie after running the count full.

The Orioles loaded the bases with two outs in the ninth against Rafael Soriano, but Adam Jones struck out. The Yankees walked Nick Markakis intentionally with two outs to pitch to Jones.
