Last night, Felix Pie’s two-run double in the bottom of the eighth inning proved to be extremely important when the Indians scored three times in the ninth. Pie had extended the Orioles’ lead to 6-2. They needed every inch of that margin.
Today, Robert Andino laid down a bunt in the bottom of the seventh with Derrek Lee breaking for home. Lee beat the throw to the plate, and Andino raced to second when the ball got past catcher Carlos Santana.

Today, Robert Andino laid down a bunt in the bottom of the seventh with Derrek Lee breaking for home. Lee beat the throw to the plate, and Andino raced to second when the ball got past catcher Carlos Santana.
Andino was credited his fourth RBI, a career high for the second baseman, and J.J. Hardy picked up one of his own with a two-out single after Matt Angle walked.
Orioles 7, Indians 3.
Another reminder that Andino was batting .176 with runners in scoring position before today.
The Indians couldn’t score after loading the bases with one out in the top half of the inning. Jim Johnson knocked down a shot up the middle from Travis Buck and got the force at home, and he struck out Lonnie Chisenhall with a 91 mph fastball.
Michael Gonzalez allowed back-to-back singles with one out, and Johnson gave up a single after replacing him.
Update: Matt Wieters hit his 10th home run, increasing the lead to 8-3 in the eighth. The Orioles have two four-homer games this season, the other coming June 25 against the Reds.
Is Koji Uehara really warming in the bullpen? He pitched two innings Friday night and one inning last night.
