In the last few days, they have been. The Orioles have won four of the last five games, hitting 15 homers in that stretch. Over their last 12 games, they have hit 26 homers with nine games of two or more homers.

The Orioles are on a pace to hit 225 homers for the season. Last year’s Birds bashed a few, 214 to be exact, which was second…The 2013 Orioles are suddenly bashing and mashing baseballs.

The Orioles have four players with seven or more homers and that makes a season total of 25 or more in reach for all of them. Chris Davis is the major league leader with 16, while J.J. Hardy and Adam Jones have hit nine each, and Matt Wieters has hit seven.

The homers have been coming in bunches during this series at Toronto. The Orioles have hit nine in the series and Toronto has six.

The Orioles are hitting more homers this month than last. They hit 32 in 27 April games and have already bashed 36 in 22 games in May.

Three players have led this recent surge. Davis has hit three homers his last four games, five in his last eight and seven over his last 15 games. Jones has hit three in three games and five in the last 12. Hardy has hit three homers his past 10 games and six in the last 19.

The Orioles offense has been about more than just the longball. While they lead the league in homers, they also lead the American League in doubles, slugging and stolen bases.

They are a team that can score with a homer, but in other ways, too. Right now, it is a good blend of some power and some speed. The Orioles offense is humming right now as one of baseball’s top-scoring clubs with a lineup that features home run threats up and down the order.
