It became a 5-3 game on Derek Jeter’s slow dribber to third that went for another infield safety. When Curtis Granderson singled off Brian Roberts glove, the Yankees had a 6-3 lead.

Down 3-0 the Orioles rallied. Mark Reynolds’ two-run homer in the seventh made it 3-2 and snapped an 0-for-22 stretch for Reynolds. The Orioles tied it in the ninth against Mariano Rivera on Roberts’ two-out RBI double.

The Orioles fall to 2-4 on this homestand and to 0-4 on the year versus the Yankees. The Orioles have scored three runs or less nine times over the 2-11, 13-game stretch and 11 times on the season, going 1-10 in those games.
