The Orioles entered today with a team batting average of just .220, but they were batting .400 with runners in scoring position at 18-for-45 through eight games.
You can’t keep that pace up and they haven’t. Today they are 0-for-2 with RISP and Mark Reynolds has been the guy up both times. Reynolds, after getting several clutch hits the last few days, today struck out with runners on first and third in the first. He then grounded out with second and third in the third.

Keep in mind, Reynolds began this game with a batting average of .714 with RISP at 5-for-7. Can’t do it every time, that is for sure. The way this game is, he may get another big chance or two in this game before it is over.
The O’s offense has slowed a bit since Thursday’s comeback win and the early innings of game one yesterday. Since they led Texas 5-0 after three innings on Saturday in the opener of two games, they scored just one run in the nightcap last night and none today through four frames.
The O’s have plated just one run over the last 18 innings through the fourth today.
