Tigers lineup and pre-game chatter

For the Tigers: Clete Thomas CF Johnny Damon LF Magglio Ordonez RF Miguel Cabrera 1B Carlos Guillen DH Don Kelly 3B Alex Avila C Scott Sizemore 2B Ramon Santiago SS Justin Verlander RHP Manager Dave Trembley confirmed that the club has held discussions about adding a middle infielder to the camp roster. Brian Roberts still isn't ready to play, Justin Turner probably won't be available tomorrow after taking a line drive off his left foot, and Cesar Izturis has a sore throat. "Maybe an older guy, maybe a guy who played winter ball and is in pretty good game shape that we could bring over from minor league camp," Trembley said. Andy Gonzalez is one player being discussed. Trembley isn't ready to declare that Luis Lebron has entered the competition for a bullpen spot, but he didn't dismiss the right-hander's chances. "I went up to him last night and said, 'Where the hell have you been?' He has a heck of a fastball. That's explosive. That's a major league fastball right there. We're going to see him again," Trembley said. "He's got quality stuff. First time I've seen him." So maybe we should keep Lebron on the radar for Opening Day. "I don't know about that," Trembley said. "I'd like to see him again, though. He drew our interest. You don't see that kind of arm very often." Lebron was 2-3 with a 3.00 ERA, 11 saves and 52 strikeouts in 33 innings at Single-A Frederick, and 1-0 with a 1.98 ERA, 10 saves and 39 strikeouts in 27 1/3 innings at Double-A Bowie. He was chosen to the Carolina League All-Star team. The Orioles made the right call holding back Nolan Reimold until today. The cold temperatures last night wouldn't have done Reimold any favors. It's much warmer here. "They have a nice hitting background here. It's a good place for him," Trembley said. "We're anxious to get him started. That's why I have him batting up in the lineup."
