Manager Buck Showalter hinted earlier today that another roster move could be coming, and it happened after the game with Tillman being optioned to Triple-A Norfolk.

The Sun’s Jeff Zrebiec and MLB.com’s Brittany Ghiroli tweeted that Chris Jakubauskas is expected to join the team in Seattle, giving Showalter another long reliever.

The Orioles have five open dates on their June schedule and Brian Matusz is coming off the disabled list on Wednesday, so Showalter will go with a four-man rotation until further notice.

Tillman and Bergesen will join Jason Berken in the Tides’ rotation, which suddenly looks pretty deep.

Tillman can work on his delivery and try to get deeper into games by lowering his pitch count.

Meanwhile, the Orioles held the lead only once in this series, and it lasted a half-inning. They had one extra-base hit, a double by J.J. Hardy. None of their starters completed six innings.

That’s a pretty good recipe for being swept.

More than just a game was lost today. Adam Jones, the team’s RBI leader with 29, exited in the bottom of the fourth inning with a sore right shoulder.

Showalter told MASN’s Gary Thorne that he “got word about 15 minutes before game time that it was a little tender.”

“He made a throw early in the game and didn’t like the way it was feeling. It was barking a bit,” Showalter said, adding that Jones has been dealing with this discomfort for a few days, but it’s been “pretty minimal.”

Head athletic trainer Richie Bancells will continue to check on Jones’ shoulder, “but it doesn’t seem like anything serious,” Showalter said. “But we’ll certainly take precautions and see if he’s in there tomorrow.”

Jones told reporters in Oakland that the shoulder only bothers him when he throws. He doesn’t feel it when batting.
