Maybe something has to give here tonight. Chris Tillman has pitched very well over his last three starts, but he has not pitched very well at all in three career starts against Kansas City.
Tillman makes his seventh start of the year tonight. He is 2-1 with a 3.63 ERA. Over his first three starts, his ERA was 7.07. Over his past three, he is 2-0 with an ERA of 1.31, allowing just 14 hits and three runs over 20 2/3 innings.

Some other notes on tonight’s game:
If Jim Johnson converts his next save chance, he’ll tie Randy Myers’ team record of 34 straight. Myers saved 34 in a row from May 6-Sept. 27, 1997. Johnson has saved 33 in a row, the longest current streak in the majors, since July 30.
The Orioles have eight players with three or more homers, the most of any American League team. The Chicago Cubs lead the majors with nine players with three or more.
Matt Wieters is batting .300 (9-for-30) over his last nine games with four doubles, a homer and eight RBIs. He has 15 RBIs over his last 19 games.
