It's another beautiful day, and my last one before the Orioles embark on a long road trip, followed by the All-Star break. That's my break. Luke Scott will be re-evaluated today, but he sure sounds like a guy who expects to go on the disabled list. What lesson did we learn last night, kids? Never run hard. OK, not really. Felix Pie drove from Bowie to Camden Yards late last night. I'm told that he makes the same trip after every rehab game with an in-state affiliate - he wasn't putting extra mileage on his car while playing for the Gulf Coast League team - but he's on high alert in case Scott is removed from the 25-man roster.

The Orioles wanted Pie to make a few more starts in left field before activating him, but they no longer have that luxury. And he can DH a few games if they're concerned about his throwing. Rick Dempsey will finally interview for the managerial position today. That's No. 4 for Demper, if you're keeping score at home. Eric Wedge also will be interviewed today, according to The Sun. When I passed along my list of candidates for most disappointing prospect in the system, I omitted my original choice - shortstop Pedro Florimon, who was protected in the Rule 5 draft and batted .183 with a boatload of errors at Bowie. He's moved down to Single-A Frederick after coming off the disabled list. Ross Wolf has thrown three perfect innings for Triple-A Sacramento, striking out three, since the Orioles traded him to Oakland. He picked up the save on Monday. I get a little more concerned for Nolan Reimold every day. He's hitting .210 at Triple-A Norfolk and has missed the last few games while again tending to a family matter. A crazy night for the organization included Nathan Moreau's no-hitter in his Single-A debut. Many congrats to him. The last two Keys no-hitters have come against Salem. Brandon Erbe and two relievers turned the trick on Aug. 5, 2008 at Harry Grove Stadium. Billy Rowell had two doubles last night. Rick Zagone's debut at Bowie wasn't quite as eventful, but he retired the last 13 batters he faced after permitting three early runs. He allowed four hits and struck out six over seven innings. I've never seen Zagone pitch, but he's apparently got a funky delivery, kicking his foot up almost to his head before releasing the ball. "I had him for the second half last year (in Frederick), so I've seen it before," pitching coach Kennie Steenstra said. "It's a little bit of a hesitation for some of the hitters. They kind of get caught looking at that once in a while. He's able to maintain it throughout the game, and he's got good balance with it. It's just one of those things where he's always done it and continues to do it." By the way, Pie scored the winning run for Bowie on Ryan Adam's walk-off double. Good thing he didn't blow out a hammy.
