The Orioles are now 3-2 and 0-2 in one-run games.

Justin Morneau’s ground single to center off Jim Johnson scored Aaron Hicks as Minnesota won to even this three-game series at a victory each.

Davis blooped a single to score a run in the third inning as part of a 1-for-3 night. It was his major league leading 17th RBI. He began today with more RBIs than 17 big league teams. This was just the second regular season game in the last 12 in which Davis did not homer.

By the way, the club record for consecutive games with an RBI to start the season is six held by Brooks Robinson (in 1966) and Mike Devereaux (in 1994).

The crowd was a good one, announced as 40,704, which was well above the crowd of 31,532 that attended the second home game last season.

Chris Tillman, who came off the DL today, struggled and gave up seven hits and five runs (all earned) over 3 2/3 innings. The Twins scored four in the third off him, including a Chris Parmelee two-run homer. Tillman threw 93 pitches.

The O’s starting rotation now has an ERA of 5.74 with two quality starts in one full turn through.

The game featured the big league debut of left-hander T.J. McFarland, the Rule 5 pick the Orioles selected out of the Cleveland organization. It was a strong debut. He got Justin Morneau to fly out on one pitch with two on to end the fourth.

McFarland pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing just one single. He walked none and fanned five, throwing 28 of his 40 pitches for strikes.

Nick Markakis, after going 2-for-4 last night, went 4-for-5 tonight with two singles and a double. Adam Jones added two hits and three RBIs and is now batting .522.

The teams play the series finale Sunday at 1:35 p.m with Jason Hammel facing lefty Pedro Hernandez.
