Jim Johnson made another one-inning start with the Gulf Coast League Orioles today, walking one batter in a 5-0 win over the GCL Rays.
Johnson only faced three batters. The leadoff hitter, Deshun Dixon, reached on an error and was eliminated on a double play. Craige Lyerly walked and stole second, but catcher Riley Hornback threw him out attempting to steal third. Hornback was a 12th-round pick this year out of San Jacinto Junior College.

Johnson is expected to report to Double-A Bowie on Thursday.
Lou Montanez, starting his second game with the GCL team, went 2-for-4 with an RBI as the designated hitter. He was removed for a pinch-runner.
While we’re trolling the minors: Bowie’s Steve Johnson is 4-0 with a 2.33 ERA since the All-Star break. He also has a no-decision after giving up one run and exiting with a lead.
Rick VandenHurk makes his second start tonight with Triple-A Norfolk. I’m still trying hard not to call him VanderHunk.
Robert Andino collected three hits last night and has hit safely in 16 of his last 17 games, batting .375 with two
homers, 10 RBIs, 13 runs scored and eight stolen bases.
With two more hits last night, outfielder Matt Angle has now reached base safely via a hit or walk in 28 consecutive games, the second-longest streak in the International League this season.
Dennis Sarfate is 14-for-16 in save opportunities. In 10 outings since failing to convert back-to-back save chances on July 1 and July 3 vs. Charlotte, Sarfate has gone 1-0 with four saves, a 0.79 ERA, six hits allowed and 19 strikeouts in 11 1/3 innings. Opponents are batting .176 against him this season, including .050 (1-for-20) with runners in scoring position and two outs
