For the Orioles, it was a blown lead, but not a blown game. When Torii Hunter drilled a three-run homer to left off Jason Berken in the 8th, the Angels had rallied from 4-0 down to tie the game, 4-4. The homer kept Jake Arrieta from getting a win on a night he took a no-hitter into the fifth and gave up just one hit through six. But the Orioles won it in the last of the ninth. Matt Wieters led off with a double to left center and Julio Lugo came in to run for him. After a Corey Patterson sac bunt, Cesar Izturis came up. The Angels went to a five-infielder alignment and played all five in. But Izturis drilled an RBI single to center for a 5-4, walk-off win. The 999th hit of his career was a game winner. Berken actually got the win in relief. Arrieta gave up just two runs and four hits over 7 2/3. This was the Orioles third straight quality start. The last time they had three in a row was May 17-19. The three O's starters pitched to a combined ERA of 2.61 in this series. The Orioles Nick Markakis broke up a scoreless tie with a 416-foot homer to right leading off the sixth. It was his 8th of the season. Later in that inning, Felix Pie singled to plate Adam Jones, after his double. The O's added two more in the 7th on a Brian Roberts RBI double and Markakis RBI single. Pie went 1 for 4 and finished this series going 6 for 11 with a double, triple and 4 RBI. LA starter Dan Haren allowed four runs and ten hits over 6 1/3 in his third AL start since his trade from Arizona. He had given up four runs over 13 2/3 in his first two starts for Los Angeles. He is now winless in ten consecutive starts, the longest streak of his career. The O's have now won seven straight games vs. AL West opponents and have more wins vs. that division (12) than any other. The Orioles complete a three-game sweep of an Angels squad that they went 2-8 vs. last year, including a 1-5 mark in Baltimore. The O's homestand continues Friday night with game one of a four-game series vs. the AL Central-leading Chicago White Sox. Brad Bergesen (3-9, 6.63) will pitch vs. John Danks (11-8, 3.40).
