That was all it took in the last of the 10th as Nate McLouth homered on a 1-1 pitch from lefty Vidal Nuno to give the Orioles a 3-2 win over the Yankees in walk-off fashion to end their six-game losing streak.

It’s McLouth’s second career walk-off homer. The first was on April 20, 2010 for Atlanta. It was McLouth’s fourth homer of the year.

In his first start for the Orioles since May 3, Miguel Gonzalez went seven innings, allowing just five hits and two runs with no walks and five strikeouts. He left that previous start after 80 pitches due to a right thumb blister and came off the disabled list before the game tonight.

He gave the Orioles a solid start and pitched well yet again versus the Yankees. He has a career ERA of 2.41 against New York in five starts, counting his playoff start at New York last October.

The Orioles have now put together a run of three straight quality starts by Chris Tillman, Freddy Garcia and Gonzalez. The trio has pitched to an ERA of 3.32 in the three games.

Yankees starter Phil Hughes had allowed 13 runs over 6 1/3 innings in his previous two starts, but tonight against the Orioles, gave up only two runs on a pair of solo homers over six innings.

Chris Dickerson hit both homers off Hughes and it was his first multi-homer game, coming against his former team. The last time the Orioles had a two-homer game was on Sept. 26 when Chris Davis and Manny Machado did it against Toronto.
