Split-squad games and short outings for pitchers allowed the Orioles to get a closer look at many players this week, including Bud Norris, Wei-Yin Chen and Ubaldo Jimenez.

gausman pitching grey 2.jpgWhile spring training stats mean essentially nothing, Nick Markakis and Kevin Gausman’s performances have been noteworthy. These numbers beg a handful of questions, including: “Will Markakis have a bounceback year?” and “Is there a chance Gausman starts his season in Baltimore?”

Cuts also came this week. Three players were reassigned Sunday, and three more were cut Monday. Reliever Brock Huntzinger was reassigned Wednesday, and Dylan Bundy was optioned earlier today.
