Chris Tillman won a grand total of 16 major league games over his first four seasons. Nine of those victories came in 2012.
Tonight, Tillman will attempt to become the Orioles’ first 16-game winner in the 21st century.
Let that one marinate in your minds.
The last Orioles pitcher to reach 16 wins was Mike Mussina, who notched 18 victories during the 1999 season.

In 12 road starts this season, Tillman is 8-1 with a 2.93 ERA and eight quality starts in 76 2/3 innings. The Orioles are 10-2 in those games.
With a win tonight, Tillman would tie Adam Wainwright and C.J. Wilson for the most road victories in the majors.
Here’s where it becomes more challenging.
In four career starts against the Indians, Tillman has gone 2-1 with a 4.79 ERA in 20 2/3 innings. He’s 1-1 with a 7.27 ERA in two starts at Progressive Field, having allowed seven earned runs in 8 2/3 innings.
If you keep a scorebook at home, you need to make a change in the Aug. 30 game in New York. Curtis Granderson’s bunt single was changed to a fielder’s choice. Subtract a hit from reliever Francisco Rodriguez’s line.
Nate McLouth is like, “They can do that?”
Double-A Bowie left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez, 20, was named the Eastern League’s Pitcher of the Week after notching 14 scoreless innings and winning twice over two starts.
Rodriguez finished the season by allowing one run over his last four starts covering 25 innings, with three walks and 26 strikeouts.
It’s pretty clear why the Orioles refused to include him in any trades at the non-waiver and Aug. 31 deadlines.
