A-Rod didn’t homer. Neither did Derek Jeter. Or Johnny Damon or Mark Teixeria.
Still the New York Yankees hit five homers in Tuesday’s 9-6 win over the Orioles in front of 25,782 at Camden Yards.
The game had ties and lead changes like a basketball game.
Luke Scott’s 412-foot, three-run homer gave the Orioles a 6-5 lead in the 5th. It was the 52nd homer in O’s Park history to reach Eutaw Street.

But after Alex Rodriguez’s single tied the game in the 6th, New York hit back-to-back homers in the 7th off Chris Ray to lead 9-6.
Nick Swisher’s two-run homer made it 8-6 and Eric Hinske followed with a solo shot to left.
Robinson Cano had three hits, including a two-run homer and Jorge Posada homered twice for the Yankees – his 16th multi-homer game.
Melvin Mora had three hits for the O’s, including a two-run single and Felix Pie hit a solo homer in the last of the first.
New York starter A.J. Burnett gave up six runs and 11 hits in 5 1/3 and O’s starter David Hernandez allowed five runs in five frames.
The Yankees, who have won nine in a row vs. the Orioles, are 69-31 over their past 100 games.
The Yankees lead the Majors with 207 homers.
