Jonathan Tucker batted for Jones with runners on first and second, one out and the Orioles’ trailing, 5-3. He hit into a force, barely beating the throw to first base.

It’s spring training.
Talking about his start today, Jeremy Guthrie noted how he gave up too many hits and got behind too many batters.
“Not a great performance,” he said. “It was nice to go out there to put up a zero in the third and get the leadoff guy in the fourth, but overall a lot of work still to be done.”
Guthrie showed steady improvement from the first inning to the fourth.
“I was maybe a little more aggressive with the fastball,” he said. “I probably still threw the same amount of fastballs, but a little more aggressive and better location.”
Guthrie didn’t have as much movement on his fastball as his last start, “but it was much better than it was last year, and that’s something I can still build on and still continue to work on,” he said.
“I just need to go out there and be more aggressive early in the count and get some quicker outs, or even qucker results for that matter. Instead of a six-pitch walk, give up a three-pitch hit or something.”
