In a game where the Orioles trailed twice by five runs, they beat the Mariners 8-7 in 14 on Tuesday night to improve to 59-51. The Orioles have now won 12 straight extra-inning games.

In the bottom of the 14th, Omar Quintanilla led off with an infield single and moved to second on a Nick Markakis single, which was his fourth hit. The runners moved up a base on a J.J. Hardy bunt and then Chris Davis was walked…It was another impressive win by the Orioles, even if it took 14 innings.

That brought up Adam Jones, who lined an RBI single to right off Shawn Kelley to end the game. It was Jones’ 58th RBI.

The game started with a Kyle Seager three-run homer in the first for the Mariners after a Zach Britton error on the game’s leadoff hitter helped prolong that inning. Britton had a tough night, giving up eight hits and seven runs (four earned) over five innings plus two batters.

The Orioles trailed 5-0 heading to the bottom of the second and 7-2 going to the last of the sixth tonight.

They scored four times in the last of the seventh to tie the game at 7-7. Quintanilla had an RBI single in that inning and Hardy’s three-run homer tied the game.

Matt Wieters hit two solo homers in the game and added a double as part of a 3-for-6 night. It was his third-career two-homer game.

The Orioles have now won 11 straight one-run games improving to 22-6 on the season in those games.

Another win for the Orioles who moved to within four and a half games of the first-place Yankees, who lost to Detroit.

The Orioles have now won four in a row and seven of the last nine games and they can sweep this series on Wednesday night at Camden Yards.
