The Orioles treated Game 1 of today’s doubleheader as if they have something to play before beyond pride.

Pete Alonso isn’t going away quietly.

Alonso hit two more home runs, including a 471-foot shot in a 10-2 victory over the Yankees in the Bronx. It’s tied for the second longest of his career.

Game 2 will begin with the Orioles at 79-81 and still hoping to finish .500.

Dylan Beavers hit a grand slam and Jeremiah Jackson produced the Orioles’ second inside-the-park home run this month, following Coby Mayo’s three-run shot off the center field fence at Citi Field.

Meanwhile, Alonso leads the American League with 43 homers and is tied with the Cardinals’ Alec Burleson for the major league lead in RBIs with 113.

Alonso has hit five homers in his last four games, eight in his last nine and 10 in 15.

Alonso has 20 home runs with 42 RBIs in 43 games since Aug. 9. He’s totaled 16 home runs against the Yankees in 43 career games, the most by any player in that span.

Jackson enabled the Orioles to tie the franchise record for most inside-the-park homers in a season. They also hit two in 1954, 1956, 1957, 1959, 1969 and 1973, per STATS.

In perhaps his last start with the Orioles, Trevor Rogers allowed one run in four innings and finished with a 4.03 ERA in 30 starts. He wants to stay in the organization but earned the right to test the free-agent market.

“Would love to be back here, but the business side of baseball, you never know,” Rogers told the assembled media. “So as of now, I’m going to enjoy the last couple days with the fellas and really enjoying being with the guys, and then go home and see my dog.”

Albert Suárez earned the win in his latest return to the Orioles with four scoreless innings, no walks and five strikeouts.

Brandon Young starts Game 2. He owns a 3.62 ERA, lowest in the rotation, in 27 starts.

Young allowed two runs and three hits in 5 1/3 innings against the Yankees on May 11 in Baltimore.

Gunnar Henderson is on the bench for Game 2. José Barrero is the shortstop.

Beavers is the designated hitter, Jackson is batting cleanup for the second time in his career, Leody Taveras is batting fifth and playing center field, and Rece Hinds is in right.

The Yankees are using left-hander Ryan Yarbrough, who’s made 37 appearances but only one start and posted a 3.84 ERA in 61 innings. He’s surrendered only three home runs.

Yarbrough has allowed one run in six relief innings against the Orioles this season, with no walks and eight strikeouts. He has a 4.01 ERA in 21 career games (10 starts) against the Orioles.
