Left-hander CC Sabathia retired the side in order in the top of the ninth inning, and the Yankees held on to defeat the Orioles 3-1 before a non-sellout crowd of 47,081 at Yankee Stadium.

Adam Jones led off the inning by flying to left, making him 2-for-23 in the Division Series. The Yankees will host the Tigers Saturday in Game 1 of the American League Championship Series. The Orioles will board a train later tonight for Baltimore.
