Eveland actually signed with the Eagles a few weeks ago, but the team didn’t announce it until today.

The Orioles acquired Eveland, 29, from the Dodgers during the 2011 Winter Meetings for pitcher Jarret Martin and outfielder Tyler Henson. He went 0-1 with a 4.73 ERA in 14 games, including two starts. At Triple-A Norfolk, Eveland was 5-5 with a 2.79 ERA in 14 starts.

Eveland became a minor league free agent and the Orioles didn’t attempt to re-sign him. They took him off the 40-man roster three times over the summer.

Former Orioles pitcher Brian Bass signed with Hanwha before the 2012 season, but was sent to the minor league club after a few appearances and later released. He signed with the Astros on May 27.

Also, the Orioles have signed catcher Kevin Dultz and shortstop Niuman Romero to minor league contracts, according to Baseball America’s Matt Eddy.

Dultz, 24, batted .194/.342/.355 with two doubles, a homer and four RBIs in 23 games with rookie-level Missoula, a Diamondbacks affiliate. Romero, 27, batted .300/.367/.421 with 28 doubles, four triples, nine homers, 67 RBIs and 19 steals in 24 attempts over 135 games at Double-A Erie.

Romero has appeared in 12 major league games, including 10 with the Indians in 2009 and two with the Red Sox in 2010. He has two hits in 18 at-bats.

Romero has played all four infield positions in the majors and minors, mostly shortstop. He’s also played 13 games in right field and one in left in the minors.
