* The Orioles have had perhaps the quietest offseason in the American League East. There’s simply no way to sugarcoat it. * The Orioles have had perhaps the quietest offseason in the American League East. There’s simply no way to sugarcoat it. Like many others, USA TODAY’s Scott Boeck believes the Orioles need to fill out their starting rotation with another starter. Boeck gave an organizational review of the Orioles, but largely focused on the starting rotation. Boeck says, however, waiting for Dylan Bundy or Kevin Gausman might not be the smartest thing if the team wants to win this season. Boeck also points out that Orioles starters ranked 27th in ERA, 22nd in innings pitched and 24th in strikeouts during the 2013 season. For a complete report on the team, click here.

* In case you missed it, the Orioles’ equipment truck arrived in Sarasota on Monday. Pitchers and catchers report next Thursday.

* Dayn Perry of CBSSports.com assembled the top position players from Orioles history to form the best Baltimore team of all time. Perry chose the specific player’s best season with the Orioles. Some of the players include George Sisler at first base, Cal Ripken Jr. at shortstop, Brooks Robinson at third base, Brady Anderson in center field and Frank Robinson in right field. To nobody’s surprise, Jim Palmer anchors the rotation. I can’t really weigh in on this team, as I was 1 year old during Ripken Jr.’s season listed above.
