According to his Facebook page, Rhyne Hughes said he has been called up to the Majors by the Orioles.
Hughes wrote on his page late Friday night “got the CALL! Thanking God for this blessing and opportunity! See you in Boston!!”
I saw this first posted on the Camden Chat website.
Hughes went 0 for 3 Friday night for Norfolk vs. Charlotte. He began this year with an 11-game batting streak and in 15 games with the Tides was hitting .353-3-11 with an OPS of 1.088.

The 26-year-old lefty hitter is batting .250 this year vs. left-handed pitching and .372 vs. right-handers. He batted .429 batting with runners in scoring position for the Tides.
Hughes has mostly played first base in his career but this season he made several starts in right field. He was orginally drafted in round eight in 2004 by Tampa. The Orioles acquired him from the Rays last August as the player to be named later in the Gregg Zaun deal.
If he is added to the O’s roster Saturday, this will be his first time in the Majors.
