Funded by NFL Charities, these awards recognize community volunteers – youth and adults – who demonstrate leadership, dedication, and a commitment to bettering their communities. Charitable organizations are invited to nominate their notable volunteers for this year’s Community Quarterback Awards. Individuals can also nominate themselves. NFL Charities will donate grants to the nonprofit organizations, on behalf of the award winners.
Outstanding volunteers will be saluted on Dec. 7, at the Redskins vs. Ravens game at M&T Bank Stadium. Honorees will be awarded game tickets for themselves and a guest, a Ravens gift bag, complete with apparel and autographed memorabilia, and a commemorative plaque. A $2,500 grant will be given to each respective nonprofit organization, on behalf of the awardees. The Community Quarterback recipients will also be recognized in a pre-game ceremony. Individuals ages 13 and over who provide outstanding volunteer services for nonprofit organizations are eligible for participation.
Applications for the 2008 Community Quarterback Award can be downloaded at www.baltimoreravens.com and must be postmarked by Nov. 14, 2008. For more information or to receive an application through the mail, please call the Baltimore Ravens’ community relations department at 410-701-4000.
